BuMP Films (Pty) Ltd, established in 2018, is a Johannesburg-based company owned and operated by Bridget Pickering, a producer and filmmaker with over 30 years of experience in the industry. It specializes in African film and television development, packaging, and financing, serving as a liaison between creatives and financial backers like studios, financiers, and networks.
As an Executive and Creative Producer, BuMP Films oversees projects from inception to completion, offering services such as creative development, strategic project packaging, financial modelling and partnership cultivation.
Bridget Pickering has an extensive track record, having produced numerous television series, feature films, and documentaries across South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe. Her productions have received critical acclaim and won multiple awards, including “Dreams of a Good Life,” “Steps for the Future,” and “Liyana.” Notable feature films include “The Chemo Club,” “Taste of Rain,” and “Flame,” while her television series “Hustle”, Keeping Score, UGugu no Andile and “Emoyeni” have achieved high audience ratings and gained international recognition, being distributed on platforms like Netflix and Canal Plus.
BuMP Films is committed to producing innovative projects that challenge and redefine African narratives. It develops original content in documentary, television, and film formats, collaborating with talented writers, directors, and creatives to showcase African stories to a global audience.
Currently, BuMP Films has completed two feature films, “Mrs Plum” which is currently being submitted to Festivals and “Apetown,” in the final postproduction phase. Bump Films is also in post-production on two documentaries: “Miss Africa South/Forgotten Beauty” and “Nokx – Queen of Pies.”
